INDUSTRY GETS BIGGER
Inside the targets of Turkey intended to 2023, a line of 10.000 km of high-speed train is aimed to be installed. Now there are services of high-speed lines of Ankara-Eskişehir and Ankara-Konya. The installment of the high-speed lines of Ankara-Sivas has been continuing and the bidding of high-speed line of Bursa-Bilecik and Ankara-Afyon has been completed and the construction will begin soon. If the installment of high-speed line of 10.000 km has been finished, our country will have had the second biggest railway line after the China in the world in 2023. TCDD, which is servicing now with 12 settings, will order for many more in coming years.
In addition to it, when the Marmaray Project has been finished in 2013, railway transportation between England and China will be possible without interruptions. Marmaray will also contribute a great support to the transportation inside the city of Istanbul. That the investments of subway have been assigned to the Ministry of Transportation-Maritime Affairs and Communications has quickened the investments of subway especially in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. The biddings of half-finished lines of Tandoğan-Keçiören, Kızılıya-Çay road and Batıkent-Sincan has been completed soon will be assigned. And in Istanbul, the bidding for the subway line of Umraniye-Uskudar has been completed. On the date of March 2012, the subway line of Kartal-Kadikoy will be in service. In addition to it, by installing short lines, it is tried to lessen the traffic density for which the line Istanbul Levent-Hisarüstü project may be shown as an example.
Furthermore, in Adapazarı, by partnership of TCDD, ROTEM and a private industry, there has been installed EUROTEM factory for producing vehicles for railways. Purpose of the factory is to produce vehicles which are not produced in our country. In this regard, the first project they have undertaken is to produce vehicles for Marmaray Project. In Bursa also, the prototype of subway train has been produced. With license of ROTEM, production for diesel settings in TUVASAS has begun. While these works are continuing, biddings for 324 subway vehicles will be made soon.
"The Share of The Train Travelers Will Reach 20 Percent"
"90 percent of the lines in Turkey have no signal and have just one line. Authorities view this situation as "outdated picture" they state that it is necessary to make the signalization of all the lines and they should have two lines at least. In 12-15 years, by installing a new line of 11.000 km, it is aimed at increasing the share of travelers using railways higher that 20 percent.
"Industry of Railways is attracted By Private Industry"
The works of railways ,which have been neglected so far for 50 years, has been quickened in present-period. It is aimed at installing a high-speed line of 10.000 km and a conventional line of 4.000 km by 2023. Viewing the schedule of investments, we can see that quite easily. In this regard, the fair which will be held whets the appetites of both the investments and the other countries in the area and the purchasers from all over the world.
